Jordan Brand Reveal New Jordan Zion 1 Colourway
Zion Williamson continues to obliterate his opponents, the New Orleans Pelican and number one draft pick really starting to show us his colossal potential in the NBA. And while we’re all trying to emulate his jaw-dropping moves in the post, sneakerheads have been patiently waiting for his first signature sneaker, the Jordan Zion 1 (previously dubbed the Z-Code).
While the Jordan Zion 1 inaugural colourway will arrive in a throwback, 90s-like burst of colour, Jordan Brand have also revealed a more subdued black and white iteration that allows some of the design blueprints to really shine through.
Ostensibly taking cues from Russell Westbrook’s innovative silhouettes (a fellow live-wire from the Jumpman team), the mixed material design is emblazoned by a giant ‘Z’ on the side panel, a reference to Zion himself (that also appears on Zion’s eye-catching haircut).
Colourless mesh profile windows accentuate the dual, yin and yang nature of the colourway, while a partially-translucent, pale blue outsole draws attention to Jordan Brand’s cushioning system. One of the most eye-catching aspects of the design, however, is the all-over ‘ZION’ pattern on the inner lining.
Expect official details of the Jordan Zion 1 to be revealed soon. While we wait, make sure to check out a closer look at the more vivid inaugural colourway.
