Joe Freshgoods is undoubtedly one of the biggest players in the modern sneakersphere, with his partnerships continuing to hit all over the globe. In 2022, Joe Freshgoods continued his relationship with New Balance, releasing a set of tasteful 993s decked out with peach soles. He also released a collection with Vans Vault, featuring a trio of Style 36 LXs known as the ‘Honey Moon Pack’.

In 2023, JFG is set to continue his work with Vans, this time preparing to release his ‘Chocolate Valley Resort’ collection, which is made up of two silhouettes. In terms of inspiration, JFG looked to the rich history of travel and leisure in the US, stating, ‘As an avid traveler and researcher, I was drawn to the experiences of the early days of black travelers and their struggles to find welcoming and inclusive spaces while on the road. The collection is a tribute to the businesses of the past that provided a sense of community and belonging for travelers.’

Across each pair, it’s clear that the creative has opted to stick with his signature palette of late. First up is the Sk8-Hi Reissue Platform VLT LX, which features thick cream midsoles and uppers of suede and quilted panels. The model will be available in ‘Coral Almond’ and ‘Camel’. Then there’s the Slip-Hiker LX, which has been constructed with padded nylon uppers and equipped with MTE outsoles.

The ‘Chocolate Valley Resort’ collection will become available to buy on January 21 at JFG’s online store and his Every Now & Then location.
