Jeff Staple’s Pigeon Lands on the PUMA Suede ‘Create From Light’

An instrumental figure in shaping the modern sneaker industry, Jeff Staple and his flock of pigeons continue to invade numerous brands and models. Recently crash-landing on a Crocs and even taking flight in the brain-melting world of NFTs, Staple’s pigeons are now permeating the iconic PUMA Suede.

No stranger to working with the Big Cat, Staple has been taking on the Suede silhouette for several years. The latest duo of colourways takes aesthetic cues from earth’s night and day cycles, the two vibrant colourways replete with purples, pinks and oranges. Reminiscent of horizons during dusk and dawn, the collaboration also features Staples’ signature pigeon motifs on the heels.

A longtime staple of sneaker culture, the PUMA Suede initially arrived in the 1960s. Famously laced by Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier (one of the first athletes to endorse PUMA), the Suede was originally known as the PUMA Clyde.

Look for the Jeff Staple x PUMA Suede ‘Create From Light’ to arrive on February 18 at PUMA and selected retailers.

In the meantime, revisit our piece on five of the wildest sneaker riots ever – including the one caused by Jeff Staples’ Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Pigeon’.
