Jaden Smith is Behind the New Balance Vision Racer

In late June, images of a previously unseen New Balance design hit the 'net. It turns out the Vision Racer is in fact the debut silhouette from Jaden Smith, who signed a high-profile deal with the Boston brand back in 2019.

The chunky runner style draws on the 1700 and X-Racer, said to be two of Smith's favourite NB models. Dressed in 'Wavy Baby Blue', the Vision Racer takes a considered approach with vegan-friendly and partially recycled materials used in its construction.

While the upper's inspiration can be traced to its source, that overblown midsole certainly is an original creation. Bulbous, blue, and iced out, it definitely promises comfort.

The Jaden Smith x Vision Racer is due to release on July 17.
