Introducing 2017's Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Collection
Nike have been keeping the 2017 Doernbecher Freestyle Collection under wraps; we've only seen leaked images of a DB Air VaporMax so far. Now, the Swoosh have officially unveiled the collection, which sees kids from Portland’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital get free design reign over their favourite models.
This year, Nike are presenting a six-strong collection. Highlights include a speedy-looking Air More Uptempo with 'BPM' lettering replacing Pippen's traditional 'AIR' logo ('BPM' is its 11-year-old designer's initials – Brody Preston Miller – but he's also happy for you to interpret it as 'beats per minute'). And, at only 9 years old, Carissa Navarro has cooked up one of the hottest Air Jordan 12 retros we've seen in a while. It's got pizza slice deubrés because, like for most of us, pizza's one of her favourite things in life.
There's also a Nike Zoom SB, Air Max Thea Ultra FlyKnit and a seriously cool baseball-themed Huarache in the charity auction's lineup. Check out Nike's profile on the 2017 Doernbecher collection and its collaborators for more info.
