In-Hand: The Familia x Nike SB Dunk Low ‘First Avenue’,
Composed in black, ‘Voltage Purple’, and white, the rendition is built with faux-brick leather on the SB Dunk’s quarter overlays. Star-perforated toe boxes allude to the 500 stars on the building’s exterior (the 500 stars celebrate iconic performances at the venue), but the real focus here is First Avenue’s brightest star: Prince. A Minneapolis native, the Dunk’s wear-away uppers fade to purple (an ode to Purple Rain), with iridescent Swooshes and heels adding some classic Prince glamour to the silhouette.
Co-branded insoles celebrate the venue’s renowned chequerboard floors, and acknowledge the venue’s first live show (April 3rd, 1970) with a ticket print.
Originally expected to land in 2020 (coinciding with the venue’s 50th anniversary), the Familia x Nike SB Dunk Low ‘First Avenue’ is now expected to land later this year.
In the meantime, why not check out our interview with skate guru Daniel Kim on his SB Dunk collaboration.
