The HUNDRED% x SneakerLAH x ASICS GEL-Lyte III Pays Homage to ‘Teh Tarik’
Multi-brand retailer HUNDRED% have looked to and Malaysia’s biggest sneaker event, SneakerLAH, to join forces once again! This trio is still riding high following their , and now, looking to the , they’ve decided to pay homage to their Malaysian roots with a colourway inspired by the ‘The Tarik’ or ‘pulled tea’ drink.
‘The Teh Tarik is a national drink that draws Malaysians together from all walks of life, connecting people from different races, cultures, and religion,’ says country manager of ASICS Malaysia, Boon Tib Soom Nik. ‘With the GEL-LYTE III ‘Teh Tarik’, we hope to share Malaysia’s multicultural diversity with the rest of the world, an icon that bridges the gap across generations.’
Drawing on the milk tea beverage for inspiration, the trio has doused the uppers in mismatched caramel suede with a variety of textures, adding speckled detailing that imitates the tea. The icy, translucent outsole represents the glass tables usually found in mamaks and kopitiams where the drink is served.
