HOKA's All-Terrain Mafate THREE2 Opens Nature's Paintbox

are bringing the lithe movement of their logo to two new colourways of the Mafate THREE2: a rich, loamy brown and a 'Frost/Black' as crisp as midwinter wind.

Originally released in late 2023, the Mafata THREE2 firmly planted its flag in the ‘from street to tough terrain’ camp. That badge of duality is pinned not just to function, but also to form – the model is a mashup of two HOKA jewels. The brand sliced off the Mafate Speed 2’s celebrated sole unit and dressed that dreamy slab in the Mafate 3’s upper, resulting in a top-shelf trail shoe that’s streetwear-handsome – and includes more than enough tech for those who were born to run.

Ready to peep a little deeper? Get in. The THREE2 packs full-length, compression-moulded EVA foam stacked up to maximal height for masses of underfoot protection. To keep you centred on unpredictable surfaces, the shoe’s sidewalls are especially pronounced at the midfoot and heel. Its tongue is gusseted, meaning it isn't attached just at its based but also at its sides – creating a firm seal that won't let any pebbles, gravel, soil or spiders in. Finally, the Vibram Megagrip outsole is studded with exceptionally big lugs; you will be able to grip into all kinds of surfaces as steady as a mountain goat.

Both the 'Cast Iron/Mineral Brown' and the 'Frost/Black' feature contrast stitching right down the middle of the tongue, and on both the heel and tongue pull tabs. The HOKA bird wings its way into a number of spots across the shoe, beyond the 'O' of the branding: the toe cap, tongue tab, lateral heel, and even patterned within the outsole grip.
