Hit the Road in the Run the Boroughs x New Balance 991

Run the Boroughs x New Balance 991

First hitting pavements in 2001, the New Balance 991 has become a staple in the brands Made in UK lineup. Now, with the help of London-based Run the Boroughs, it's harking back to its performance roots with a clean colab in anticipation of the London Marathon.

The running collective, known for making tracks throughout the capital’s boroughs, have drawn some hometown inspiration for their NB link-up. Dark concrete roads and dreary London whether inform the grey and blue scheme, while 3M hits will keep ‘em visible in the city’s famous pea soup fog.

Tech–wise, you can expect the usual from a top-tier Newbie, with the upper sporting a cushy combination of mesh suede and nubuck, and down below the ADZORB window – first introduced on the 991 – gives us a look inside the comfort-packed sole unit. Finally, Run the Boroughs’ logo sits proudly on the tongue in commemoration of the partnership.

New Balance UK have locked in an October 1 drop ahead of the big race on October 3. Other retailers are likely to follow suit, so keep an eye out for those release announcements. Or, if you’re in London, you can enter to win a pair (along with a pretty epic prize pack!).
