Head to the ‘Back Streets of Japan’ with the ASICS GEL-Lyte IIIRelease: 19 March 2021
Originally rolling onto shelves in 1990, the legendary ASICS GEL-Lyte III silhouette celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. And although the party flew somewhat under the radar in 2020, it’s still rocking on. A few heater combos have made their way across our screens this year, including the stunning ‘Sunrise Red’ and an ‘Emerging Market’ iteration. Back at it again, we’ve just been blessed with a pack dubbed ‘Back Streets of Japan’.
Containing two iterations of the GEL-Lyte III, one has been hit with a pastel-hued Aqua Angel/Mako Blue look and another has been dressed in a muted Ivory/Black vibe. Both have been composed using a mixture of mesh, leather and suede with dual-toned midsoles and darker branding.
The eye-catcher of the bunch would have to be the soft-coloured joint. A blue tone dominates the model with subtle hits of pink on the mesh around the midsection, eye stays, heel branding, and midsole. The second is equally tasty, albeit slightly more subtle as it has been doused in a full-ivory upper with indigo hits complemented by spicy pops of green in all the right places.
Both pairs of the ASICS GEL-Lyte III in the ‘Back Streets of Japan’ pack will be arriving on European shelves on March 19.
