Happy99 had quite the glow up the last handful of years, as they've gone from a social media side hustle to now collaborating with a major sneaker brand. The New York Chinatown design house started by exhibiting 3D shoe demos, and now their creations are being brought to life with a Reebok Instapump Fury pack.

For the studio’s first Reebok entry, they’ve selected the 1994 Steven Smith Instapump Fury. Arriving in two colourways, 'Purple/Midnight/Earth’ and ‘Boulder Grey/Mint’, each iteration is animated with a 1990s video game and anime aesthetic, featuring glossy cartoonish colour blocking and materials. The shoes take the Smith foundation and then level them up with vaporwave reminiscent tooling and a fusion of cordura, suede, and synthetic materials for the construction. The most striking element of the composition is the plastic mould overlays that imbue the exterior with an iridescent liquid form. Another unique finishing element is the ripstop gaiter that drapes each pair, complete with bungee ties and Happy99 character detailing.

The Happy99 x Instapump Fury duo carry a price tag of $250 and is due for release on December 15 at happy99.online, followed by a wider release at Reebok and select retailers on December 22.
