Hanon X Diadora B.Elite (The Spirit Of '83)
are enjoying a resurgence spurred by a gamut of great collaborations on the model, and now we're seeing the B.Elite tennis shoe re-enter the fray. Hanon have conspired with Diadora in the past and they reunite here to create a sneaker tribute to their hometown football team's greatest achievement. Hanon is based in Aberdeen, Scotland, and you're not wrong in thinking that Aberdeen don't sound like much of a soccer superpower. But in the 1980s, under the guidance of young buck future knight Alex Ferguson, they were bonafide world beaters. They took the long route to qualify to the old-timey equivalent of the UEFA Champions League in the 1982/83 tournament, but barnstormed all the way through to the final and ultimately toppled Real Madrid in extra time. It's an incredible story of the under dog having his day that is still being celebrated in the Scottish town. So Hanon has rightly slathered this B.Elite in Aberdeen FC fire red, with '83 embroidery, white accents and tonal side striping. The sneak was crafted in Italy and includes a laminated kangaroo leather tongue, double layered stiched leather insole and dual branding. The Spirit Of 83 B.Elite will be sold exclusively in Europe by Hanon. A small amount of stock will be offered to select doors in Japan and the USA. Each pair will come with a special edition customised 83 box dust bag and dual lace set.
