New Balance don’t release as many 670 colourways as they used to, so whenever a new drop emerges, you need to pay attention. Even if there are pretty distractions like the 99x series, this 670’s multicoloured execution and material mix is certainly enough to stop sneakerheads mid-scroll.

The 670 first released in 1984 and gained a bit of a cult following the mid-2000s for sleeper colabs like the Norse Projects M670NTU, and Hanon ‘Flying Club’, plus strong GRs including the M670BB. The model also bears the distinction of being part of NB’s Made In UK program, so it instantly gets a nice boost in material and construction quality.

A mixture of smooth leather, breezy mesh, and nappy nubuck demonstrates the full complement of NB’s premium textures, and each material is highlighted with a different colour. It’s no neon mess here though, find NB grey-adjacent tones like dark green, steel blue, and clay red mixed throughout grey mesh inserts. On paper, it really shouldn’t work, but the above visuals certainly look pretty good. And it’s all tied together with essential gum rubber outsoles, which will always be a tasty addition.

The New Balance 670 is available right now directly from New Balance. Get em while they’re hot.
