Grant Taylor Applies ACG Inspo to the Nike SB Blazer Mid GTRelease: 10 October 2020
Let’s get something out of the way first. The full name of these sneakers is the Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid Pro GT, which is obviously quite a mouthful. But, it’s befitting of a high performance skate and street shoe packed full of features. Moving on...
This is a skateboarding edition of the classic Blazer basketball shoe, so it has upgraded components like sturdy leather and canvas uppers, Zoom Air insoles, and thick rubber midsoles. Grant Taylor, the Nike SB rider who spends a fair bit of time in this model, takes the rugged inspiration to the next level, with a clear homage to Nike sub-brand ACG, via the clever ‘GTP’ triangle logo flip on the tongue label. The tribute continues with the brown and purple upper that’s joined to a black speckled sole – ACG nerds will instantly spot shades of the Air Mowabb, circa 1991. The neoprene/nylon tongue and heel tab with the orange trim is a dead giveaway of the source material. Three sets of included laces offer a whopping 15 different combinations! Kudos to you, Grant Taylor.
The Grant Taylor co-signed Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid Pro GT ‘ACG’ highlights the upcoming weekend’s releases, as it’s due to drop at select Nike SB spots on October 10.
