Reebok are continuing their cinematic crossover, with another classic franchise providing the thematic inspirations for their iconic sneakers. This time it’s with Ghostbusters (don’t worry, it’s the 1984 original here) for an oozy capsule comprising the Classic Leather and a new model called the Ghostsmasher, along with matching apparel. Who you gonna call?

The Ghostbusters films have been behind a number of sneaker collaborations over the years, but Reebok have taken things up another notch for this pack. The Classic Leather is an overt reinterpretation of the titular team’s brown jumpsuits, which is replicated here in rough twill fabric. It’s lined with complementary olive green terry towelling. Small details like the yellow and black caution strip on the midsole heel, woven lateral branding, and even the slime splatter on the outsole are nerdalicious touches. These CLs are tied down with branded eyelets, and the ‘No-Ghost Sign’ on the tongue is just excellent.

Meanwhile, the Ghostsmasher inconspicuously resembles the other Reebok made famous on the silver screen in the mid-80s: the Alien Stomper. Here, it’s called the Ghostsmasher in reference to the little-known working title of Ghostbusters during production. Looking like they’ve just been unearthed after hiding in Reebok’s archives for over 30 years, there’s plenty of patina on the creamy strapped leather uppers. But most conspicuous is the fact there’s a freaking Pump-branded Proton Pack welded to the heel of these already towering sneakers, complete with tubing! Well, this extra hardware is removable for everyday wear, but keep it attached for the full cosplay.

The Ghostbusters x Reebok collaboration has the perfect release date of Halloween: October 31.
