New Balance have been on a hot streak during all of 2020 with great GRs and killer colabs. And this upcoming reunion with Japan’s nonnative on the trail-flavoured Hierro continues that strong form with perhaps the perfect complement for GORP geeks and off-road enthusiasts.

The Hierro is a contemporary model from the NB All-Terrain offering, and uses the latest in the running company’s stable of comfort tech. Their Fresh Foam compound is featured prominently throughout the textured midsole, and the faux mud splatter invokes invitations to hit the dirt. Underneath is a custom Vibram MegaGrip sole pattern for sure-footed traction on all surfaces.

Up top, the Hierro is a near-seamless design that is mostly made from breathable mesh, but welded reinforcements at the toe bumper add reinforcement, as do the leather heel counters. This collaborative edition is also upgraded with a GORE-TEX lining for guaranteed waterproofing. As for the ‘Mole’ colourway, nonnative apply neutral shades of grey and beige to make these sneakers a low-key staple, rather than a statement piece. A subtle flex, thats for sure.

Pairs launch on November 21 and, like many of nonnative’s previous collaborations, this will be exclusive to select Japanese retailers including COVERCHORD, Beauty & Youth, and New Balance Japan.
