There’s a Wider Release For the GALLERY DEPT. x ASICS

LA-based brand GALLERY DEPT. have made a name for themselves n the sneakersphere in 2023 following their large collection that debuted with Vans in November. For their most recent linkup, GALLERY DEPT. joined forces with ASICS to craft an eye-catching rendition of the GT-2160. Pairs released through the brand’s webstore recently, and quickly sold out, but now a wider release has been locked in for this week.

‘The inspiration for this new collaborative shoe stems from moments of reflection and mindfulness in my studio,’ said GALLERY DEPT. founder, Josué Thomas. ‘Wearing ASICS in everyday life, I noticed how my shoes would become adorned with paint splatter, creating a unique and individualized piece of art, something that I wanted to replicate with this new project.’

The GALLERY DEPT. x ASICS hosts a regular GT-2160 with 2010s-esque silver mesh and colourful pops. Faux paint splatters have been doused throughout the upper, and they’ve been made so every pair is unique. Rounding it out is the subtle GALLERY DEPT. logo tag on the lateral heel and co-branded insoles.
