Furniture x Footwear: The Eames x Reebok Club C 85
Eames and have collaborated on a cornucopia of to start their partnership, and the latest pair to leak out is a simple all-black style. The first pair to appear was a Friends and Family style made for Eames employees in mid-September, then the offerings were bolstered by a that appeared at the tail end of the month. This third style to be revealed is the simplest yet, and – though unlike its counterparts its inspiration is not readily apparent – it may be inspired by the Eames' signature high-gloss black fibreglass chairs.
From a design standpoint, the black Eames x Reebok Club C is decidedly minimalist: black leather upper, black terry cloth lining, black and grey midsoles. However, there are a handful of special details like a grey Eames graphic on the quarter and co-branded tongue badges that use the Eames logo. 'The details are not the details, they make the design,' Charles Eames once famously quipped, which seems to be a fitting description of this subtle colourway.
