Forza Azzurri! C.P. Company Celebrates 50 Years With an adidas Italia SPZL Colab
One is based in Italy, while the other is headquartered in Germany, but and are staples of terrace culture all across Europe. C.P. Company are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2021 – it was founded in 1971 by Massimo Osti, the man also responsible for – so the two titans of the terrace have united in celebration, producing an Italia SPZL sneaker and special liner jacket.
An updated iteration of an adidas sneaker from 1971, the Italia SPZL has been recrafted in bellissimo fashion by the team. Its trim white leather upper features glossy green Three Stripes and tongue detailing, both of which are offset by gold hits. These gold hits supply the shoe's special branding, namely a C.P. Company graphic under the lateral collar and co-branded tongues. One tongue even reads 'cinquanta', Italian for '50'.
Finishing touches are provided by a suede T-toe, red midsole and insole details, and a toothed outsole. Though the shoes are beautiful and crisp, it's safe to say they'd look good with a beer stain or two as well – they are terrace sneakers after all! They're even packaged in a camouflage box.
Apart from the shoes, C.P. Company and adidas SPZL have teamed up for a co-branded camo jacket that perfectly matches the above-mentioned shoebox. The jacket features two parts: its outer shell and its removable inner liner. Though they arrive together, each piece can be worn individually as well, so you're secure when the match heats up, and when your buzz wears off afterwards.
Look for the C.P. Company x adidas Italia SPZL and jacket to release at retailers like END. on October 14. Shoes are priced at $189, and the jacket arrives at $879.
