Foot Locker Celebrate Epic Nike Tuned Milestone With ‘25th Anniversary’ Edition

The legendary Nike Tuned debuted at Foot Locker in 1998, making 2023 the 25th celebration of this cult classic being on shelves. The Air Max royalty continues to enthral both new and existing generations of sneakerheads in subcultures across Western Sydney, Paris and beyond, with people all over the world eager to lace the bold, seven-bubble bad boy.

There’s been no shortage of Hall of Fame colourways over the TN’s storied tenure, with these being as iconic as the design itself. This is why Foot Locker are choosing to mark the 25th birthday celebrations with an appropriately dubbed '25th Anniversary' iteration that revisits some of the most iconic colourways in the Tuned catalogue.

To do this, Foot Locker asked Tuned lovers all around the world what the greatest colourways of all time were, and then the footwear retailer amalgamated the top quartet of colourways into the one sneaker. With ‘Sanguine’, ‘Fireberry’, ‘Hyper Blue’ and ‘Palm’ all making an appearance, it's an iteration that is definitely one for OG collectors and rookie adopters alike.

Foot Locker have also added a little extra swagger to the packaging, with the unique box featuring sketches by original shoe designer Sean McDowell and a special anniversary message inside.

The new iteration is of course still replete with all the design hallmarks that made the sneaker such a global hit. The anniversary TN features classic TPU cages inspired by Florida’s swaying palm trees and midfoot shanks that are lovingly nicknamed the ‘whale tail’. Of course, its most technologically advanced component is still the Tuned Air cushioning, which involves blow-moulded air bubbles coupled with strategically placed rubber hemispheres.
