First Look: The Nike Kyrie 8

nike kyrie 8

The Nike Kyrie 8 has been embroiled in plenty of drama of late, Kyrie Irving recently calling-out the sneaker as ‘trash’ on social media.

It was undoubtedly a shock to the sneaker industry and in particular Nike, whose signature series with Kyrie Irving is one of the most lucrative in the business.

Irving later made an apology, the Brooklyn Net winding back his comments on a social media post:

‘When you’re building something great, there sometimes comes a point when you need to recalibrate and refocus to ensure everyone is aligned. This is where the KAI11 brand and Nike are. It was unfair to put the blame on Nike or any one person. With that being said, we are diligently working, restructuring, and reimagining things together to make sure we get it right,’ Irving explained in his statement.

The drama has now died down, and we’ve got our first glimpse at the upcoming Nike Kyrie 8, the sneaker sharing similar aesthetic qualities to the Kyrie 6.

Manufactured with a mix of suede, leather and mesh, the Kyrie 8 is again hit with iridescent detailing. True to form, the Kyrie 8 features Irving’s signature branding and iconography on the tongue, heels, and rubber outsole.
