First Look: The Nike Air Tuned Max ‘Persian Violet’

The cult-classic Nike Air Tuned Max continues to circulate the sneakersphere in 2021, the fabled 1999 banger recently introduced in ‘Dark Charcoal’, ‘Aquamarine’, and ‘Metallic Silver’ (among several others).

Yes, it’s been a long, 20-plus year wait for the return of the Air Tuned Max, despite sneakerheads getting tantalisingly close to the OG ‘Celery’ colourway via Skepta’s seminal Air Max 97 SK in 2017.

Now, we’re being treated to a new ‘Persian Violet’ colourway, the palette borrowing hues from another cult-favourite from the Swoosh vault: the Nike Air Max BW. Manufactured with a white mesh upper, the latest iteration opts for black leather overlays adjusted with iridescent collars. With the titular hue extended to the signature side cage and vintage Air Max soles, this is certainly one to add to your release calendar.

Look for the Nike Air Tuned Max ‘Persian Violet’ to release in the coming weeks. The price tag is locked at $170.

In the meantime, make sure to check out our history on the evolution of Tuned Air.
