FILA Pair Up with Wood Wood to Revive the Town ClassicRelease: 4 February 2021
FILA’s prowess on the tennis court is stuff of legend. The ultra-charismatic Björn Borg turned heads as the brand’s marquee athlete during the 1970s and 80s, while current world number one Ashleigh Barty headlines a formidable crop of modern stars gaming the iconic Italian sportswear label. To bolster their contemporary sneaker lineup, FILA throw it back to the early 90s, partnering with renowned Danish fashion imprint Wood Wood to revive the Town Classic, a court sneaker packed with archival attitude.
Debuting in 1992, the stylish court crep is a clean winner, blessed with a timeless aesthetic and quality construction. Reviving the silhouette for the first time ever, Wood Wood bring their sporty yet stylish ethos to the mix, adding subtle branding hits to the full leather upper. Arriving in a classic off-white colourway, the look is an ode to the past, drawing on robust stitched panels and subtle perforations for breathability. A co-branded tongue label joins a branding hit on the side for contrast, while matching laces arrive to keep things chic. Down below, an off-white EVA midsole and rubber outsole team up to create a familiarly formidable doubles pairing.
Game, set, match! The Wood Wood x FILA Town Classic releases alongside a matching apparel collection on February 4, exclusively via Wood Wood's webstore.
