25th Anniversary Retro FILA Grant Hill 2 is Limited to 50 Pairs
have brought back the legendary for its 25th anniversary. For those who may not be aware of the iconic sneaker (and the player behind it), here’s a quick recap.
Grant Hill is an all-time NBA great: among his on-court achievements over a career spanning almost 20 years are multiple All-Star appearances, a gold medal at 1996 Atlanta and induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. Following his retirement as a player, Hill remains closely involved with basketball, having most recently taken over as the new managing director of the USA men’s basketball team.
But perhaps more relevant here is his second signature sneaker with FILA, the Grant Hill 2, which debuted in 1996. It was a particularly popular design in the late 90s, even showing up on Tupac Shakur’s feet in the booklet for his seminal album All Eyez On Me. As such, the Grant Hill 2 has always been as much a street classic as a memorable 90s basketball shoe.
This new Grant Hill 2 colourway is a tribute to that ’96 campaign in period correct colours of white leather and speckled navy trim, with red accents completing the Team USA look. Only 50 pairs will be available from FILA on October 12.
