As part of this, Wang has now prepared a fresh multi-piece collection with Team Swoosh, fuelled by sustainable design and the vision to champion females across the globe. This has long been fundamental for the Chinese designer, who said in our , ‘I wanted to inspire more women to know that they can do what they set their mind to!’
Nike’s long history of innovation ties in perfectly with Feng’s penchant for sartorial experimentation, fusing function and form to create modern interpretations of traditional sportswear. The highlight of the collection is a piece of apparel genius that can be worn in more than 30 different ways. Dubbed the Transform Jacket, this piece draws directly from Feng’s ‘to own less is to own more’ mantra.
‘As a designer, my creative inspiration often draws from my personal experiences, cultural upbringing, and the influences of people around me,’ says Feng. ‘Like Nike, I aim to create more inclusive and sustainable products. This jacket is a perfect example of how products can be designed with inclusiveness and versatility in mind, making them suitable for everyone. Regardless of gender, age, body type, or what sports one likes to play, everyone can take pieces of a garment apart and combine them until a perfect match is found.’
Elsewhere in the collection, Feng looks to the importance of wellness and sustainability to construct a matching knit set, comprising of an eco-friendly crop top, bra and tights. Completing the capsule is a crisp asymmetric Pro T-shirt, co-branded headband and functional Convertible Cargos. Each of the items are different yet cohesive, with consistent use of the lime green feature colour and the pieced-together construction style.
