After changing the sneaker game forever with the release of the Futurecraft 4D, continues its progression with the new , which drops at for the first time this month. Designed with the help of years of athlete data, this street-ready cross trainer showcases what’s possible when sport meets the Silicon Valley.
Highlighted with the unmistakable Carbon 4D midsole, the AlphaEDGE 4D is one of the lightest, most adaptive and durable sneakers the Three Stripes have ever created – it’s technology you feel, not just see. Using the athlete data, a detailed digital map of the midsole is produced, determining how stiff each part needs to be, adjusting for additional cushioning or support. With a fully digitised version of the midsole, adi runs a simulation to test its overall performance, before printing it using ‘digital light synthesis’.
Atop the light green contemporary cushioning sits a black Primeknit upper with strategically placed stitching to provide support where you need it most. The dark tones are elevated with reflective detailing for that late-night luminosity, as bold adidas branding adds an exclamation point toward the heel.
