The has been in circulation for almost 60 years now, and it is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. This new ‘Linen’ edition affirms the model’s current-day status as a casual grand slammer. It features massive material and colour deviations from the beloved OG, a practice that has been healthily sustained since the earliest days of the adidas Originals offshoot.
For one, the namesake ‘Linen’ shade describes the pastel beige that’s used across the entirety of this Stan Smith. The uppers are made from finely brushed suede as opposed to the usual smooth leather specification. Round shoelaces replace flat versions, adding an almost pseudo-workwear aesthetic when paired with the metal eyelets. White stamped Stan Smith and adidas Trefoil branding complete the street-ready endorsement.
This Stan Smith also doesn’t stick to the script underfoot. While the proven cupsole design with its flush tread remains, adi have turned it completely translucent for a milky effect. It’s an intriguing feature that isn’t commonly used on this particular model. The added benefit of ice soles is the perceivable slight upgrade in grip.
