Fear of God Athletics and adidas Reveal the Basketball II ‘Ash Silver’

Fresh off the back of the collaboration, Athletics and adidas are unveiling yet another hardwood drop: the Basketball II in ‘Ash Silver.’ This newest colourway leans into a tonal, monochromatic aesthetic – one that accents the model’s layered, strap-laden design with sleek silver highlights throughout.

Built for performance but draped in FoG’s signature low-key minimalism, the ‘Ash Silver’ edition stays true to the silhouette’s roots: inner booties lock in a tailored fit, while Lightstrike midsoles crafted from lightweight foam provide responsive support. A TPU shank gives you that lift-off, while durable rubber outsoles mean you can stop on a dime. The straps ooze old-school basketball energy, extending an aesthetic that took root back in the golden age of hoops in the 90s.

The Fear of God Athletics line officially launched in 2023 as a standalone category within adidas’ portfolio. Billed as the ‘third pillar’ alongside Originals and Performance, the label was built to bridge the hardwood with the runway, marrying Lorenzo’s minimalist eye with the Three Stripes’ performance chops.

Despite chatter around the impending end of Jerry Lorenzo’s partnership with adidas, this release shows the collaboration still has some gas left in the tank. The ‘Ash Silver’ pair had its roots in previews shown at All-Star Weekend 2025, and now it’s ready for full deployment. Set to hit Fear of God at 10 am PST, the sneaker is priced at $180.
