Extra Butter X adidas Retro Tennis (Vanguard Pt 2)

Following up the that went down for the last , Extra Butter and adidas Originals reconvene in the scout hall to finish off the collection. They've banded together adidas' two greatest tennis silhouettes, the Rod Laver and Stan Smith, and dressed them up in erudite designs. The 'sneaker storytelling' with this one is downright unwieldy, so we're gonna throw the mic under the horse's mouth and let Extra Butter give you the word directly ...

"Continuing the Vanguard Collection, adidas Originals releases the Rod Laver and Stan Smith inspired by academy scholars.

The Rod Laver features a multi-tonal, navy nubuck background and miniature bees in embroidered gold shining boldly against the opaque laterals. Red striped foxing runs the length of the tongue echoing private school uniform that pops against the darker, midnight blue tongue.  The two metallic crest pins signify merits in "Punctuality" and "Perfect Attendance," citations in scholastic achievement.

The Stan Smith is re-imagined with a camel-tan colored wool texture upper, juxtaposed by the black leather on which the Stan Smith logo is embroidered.  Subtle, elegant touches such as the flat brass eyelets add opulent details to this refined version of a classic adidas sneaker.

The adidas Originals Rod Laver and Stan Smith will be available on 10/20 exclusively at ExtraButterNY.com during a release event at 7p.m. EST and release widely at extrabutterny.com on Wednesday, 10/21 at 12p.m. EST. The Stan Smith will retail for $100 and the Rod Laver will retail for $100."
