Extra Butter and Saucony Chase the ‘White Rabbit’ in the Shadow 6000
It appears the is continuing its run as a conduit for a wide variety of creative concepts, ranging from makeups to remixes. Up next is a collaborative effort with LES stalwarts , who have created a trippy ‘White Rabbit’ edition inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
EB have treated the classic Lewis Carroll novel as an allegory for ‘going down the rabbit hole’ in a quest for information and the truth.
‘We’re seeing people utilize the web to dig deeper into knowledge, while others look to disconnect and explore within their subconscious for spiritual or psychedelic enlightenment. Though this shoe design is simple at first glance, there are nuances that elevate the design and speak to willingness to discover,’ said EB’s Bernie Gross.
What this translates to in sneaker form is a clean leather, suede and mesh runner that looks simple at first, but gets more complex as the longer it’s observed. Mismatched red and blue suede hits accent subtle areas of the shoe, and the woven tongue label has a namesake white rabbit prancing. Not to mention the shoe box, definitely the most psychedelic component of this colab.
The Extra Butter x Saucony Shadow 6000 ‘White Rabbit’ will release directly from Extra Butter on December 22 alongside some complementary apparel and accessories. A global release will follow on January 7.
