The END. x Salomon XT-Wings 2 'Sirocco' is Built Tough
are ticking off collaborations with just about every cool brand out there, as they’ve just linked up with for the first time on the XT-Wings 2 trail runner. While many of the outdoor supplier’s colabs with fashion partners have been straight style plays, the inspiration behind END.’s effort is a bit closer to the product’s intended use.
Nicknamed ‘Sirocco’ after the severe winds that hammer the Sahara region where this colab draws its palette from, the deeper story is the Marathon de Sables race that runs through the desert. Yeah, some hardcore athletes spend six days running through the dunes of the freaking Sahara desert. So, the collaborators pay tribute to this crazy race by selecting a tanned-out palette that blends right into the sandy dunes of the area, with deeper contrasting accents emphasising the XT-Wing 2’s purpose tech. Given it’s a thoroughbred trail model, its ACS Chassis and Contragrip sole, among other features, it could have a decent crack at the race – though it’ll more likely be seen prowling the streets than the sand.
