Catch a Breeze in the ECCO BIOM 2.0 BREATHRURelease: 26 July 2022
Parts of the world are heating up for summer, but that doesn’t mean feet have to swelter in stinky sneakers. ECCO have come to the rescue with the BIOM 2.0 BREATHRU, which upgrades their ergonomic BIOM design with a new mesh upper engineered for maximum ventilation. Here’s how they’re keeping toes easy breezy.
Lighter shoes are cooler shoes, so ECCO have stripped plenty of weight off the BIOM 2.0 BREATHRU, by substituting heavier fabrics for its namesake BREATHRU performance mesh. With plenty of gaps between the threads, air moves readily in and out of the shoes, keeping things very fresh. Combined with that bootie fit and low profile sole, it's almost like wearing an ultralight pair of socks. Speaking of which, ECCO say these shoes are equally comfortable with or without socks, so ditch them for complete phalangeal airflow!
While materials have been swapped out, ECCO preserve their BIOM Natural Motion concept at the heart of the BIOM 2.0 BREATHRU. It sets the soles lower to the ground for improved ergonomics, and the large heel counter keeps the foot locked in, working in tandem with the toggled speedlace system. Low profile doesn’t mean low cushioning: ECCO’s proprietary PHORENE provides plenty of padding in slim format.
The sunny days ahead bring bright colourways such as ‘Moon Rock’ and ‘Sunny Lime’ to the BIOM 2.0 BREATHRU, which is available now directly from ECCO.
