Release Details: The Air Jordan 5 ‘Shattered Backboard’

Jordan Brand recently revealed their Holiday 2021 collection, and while we’re excited that the Air Jordan 1 is the focus, we’re still waiting on a couple of iterations from the Fall 2021 lineup to drop! The Air Jordan 5 ‘Shattered Backboard’ is one of them and, after months of waiting, it seems the all-important release details have finally come through.

The ‘Shattered Backboard’ is a unique take on the AJ5. While the usual shape has been kept intact, the most noticeable change is the netted underlay extending around the ankle collar. It seems like sneakerheads are divided by this shift, either loving it or hating it. Other than the extra netting, the upper has been composed of white leather with black accents throughout. The highlight is the ‘Orange Blaze’ midsole which brings the ‘Shattered Backboard’ vibes.

Alongside our closer look at the Air Jordan 5 ‘Shattered Backboard’, we heard word that it was meant to release on September 25. Now, we’ve received official imagery and the news that it should touch down on October 2 via Nike and the usual stockists such as Flight Club and GOAT.
