Drop Details: The atmos x New Balance 57/40
A bold remix of retro 1980s and 1990s styling, the maiden 57/40 silhouette puts the in the spincycle, the all-new design already seeing a collaboration with Japanese streetwear behemoth .
Also taking aesthetic cues from the broader 5xx franchise, the retro-futurist NB 57/40 is a more modernised take on the legendary 574, the trail-infused uppers seen in numerous colourways during the early stages of 2021. Manufactured with two stacked midsoles (one inspired by the 1990s and one pulled from the 574), the 57/40 again opts for gargantuan ‘N’ branding on the side panels, while a range of material choices add aesthetic depth to the silhouette.
The latest atmos collaboration is very colourful indeed, the Grateful Dead-like tie-dye underlays adding a base layer for the partnership. ‘Canary Yellow’ uppers add eye-catching characteristics to the colourway, while black and neon green accents add a clean bookend to the heel. Underneath, icy blue outsoles are revealed in semi-translucent stylings.
The atmos x New Balance 57/40 is scheduled to arrive on March 20.
