The Night Shift: Drake and Nike Serve Up a Stealthy NOCTA Glide

Launched in 2020, the project – named after Drake’s ‘nocturnal creative process’ – continues to roll out fresh colourways of the the latest involving an after-dark palette that fits right in with NOCTA’s aesthetic and understated storytelling.

This new ‘Black/Iron Grey’ edition keeps things simple but sharp, covering the Glide’s mesh and synthetic upper in a blackout scheme with subtle iron grey accents. Crisp white soles add some contrast, while the NOCTA logo is stamped on the tongue and heel for a minimal flex. It’s a look that leans into the whole late-night vibe that’s been central to the label since day one.

For those unfamiliar with the model, the NOCTA Glide takes its cues from the legendary Nike – a 90s basketball shoe known for its wavy midsole and bold ‘bug eye’ pods. Drake and Nike reworked that blueprint into something lighter and more streamlined.

While the Glide has been getting plenty of attention, it’s just one piece of the NOCTA puzzle. The first-ever NOCTA sneaker was the which made its long-awaited debut in early 2022. Beyond the Hot Step and Glide, the NOCTA range has also included special editions of Nike classics like the ‘Love You Forever’.

The NOCTA Glide ‘Black/Iron Grey’ is set to release in 2025 via SNKRS and select retailers.
