Don’t Let this Nike Air Huarache ‘Escape’!
This is SF’s third reminder about the return of the ‘Escape’, so there are no excuses for letting them… escape! have had them up on their respective launch pages, others have shot ahead of midnight drops, and now Nike have backed it all up with official imagery and a confirmed release date.
The Air Huarache ‘Escape’ originally released in 2003, showing off outdoorsy palettes of tan and brown nubuck set against blue neoprene booties. Collectors of the model immediately saw parallels to underrated leather, nubuck and suede OG editions like the ‘Praline’ and ‘Slate’, so the ‘Escape’ was a revered release. Some 18 years later, with Huaraches hitting another peak of popularity, this re-release may be another instant success.
2021’s Huarache releases have also seen a , resulting in a more accurate reproduction of its 1991 shape. This means the ‘Escape’ has also undergone a nip-tuck, as in 2003 the Hua silhouette was a far cry from the ’91 OG. Arguing over the accuracy of a retro (of a retro) is wasted effort.
The Nike Air Huarache ‘Escape’ will re-release on April 16 directly from Nike and selected retailers. Each will have different launch methods, so check in with them respectively.
