Perhaps the most anticipated drop from Jordan Brand’s latest season of sneakers is the Air Jordan 4 ‘Taupe Haze’, which was originally thought to be available at the end of this month. Sadly, it’s now looking like that won’t be the case…
ICYMI, this AJ4 leans very heavily on the earthy tones and gritty textures championed on similarly-coloured Jordans worn and/or collaborated on by one Travis Scott, who has seemingly become a bit of a style icon in certain corners of the sneaker world. Indeed, the ‘Taupe Haze’ is big on the TS vibes, down to the tonal cracked and distressed leather upper set against contrasting black hardware and rubber mesh. The contrasting tongue lining and Jumpman logo is officially ‘Infrared’ for a bit of high voltage pop; very much like something spewed up after too many… Reese’s Puffs… at Astroworld.
Cactus Jack comparisons aside, it is still a venerable AJ4 colourway in its own right, with the uncommon material makeup paired to more traditional elements like the midsole’s colour-blocking. It simply works in its OG two-tone black rubber and white foam combo. That extra hit of ‘Infrared’ on the forefoot outsole is also a nice inclusion that only your mind’s eye and worms will see.
Anyway, Ragers will only be further vexed at the month-long delay that the ‘Taupe Haze’ AJ4 has been barred with; the release date is now expected to be February 27.
