Cruise in Comfort with the SBTG x Limited Edition x New Balance 327 ‘Urban Islander’
Singapore’s OG sneaker customiser, Mark Ong, aka , has teamed up again with neighbouring boutique for a truly leisurely remake of the 327. Designed for the ‘Urban Islander’, this rendition of NB’s newest kick on the block combines the military palettes that have shaded SBTG’s work over the years, with the tropical colours of his and Limited Edition’s S’pore home base.
These are some seriously cruisy kicks, slipping on crispy nylon inlays against extra nappy olive and black suede, with hits of hot red in between. On the right foot’s medial side is a sublimated pineapple graphic on lush green, while the left changes up some leopard spots in classic SBTG style. The lateral sides of this 327 blend tonal N branding into black and olive panels, continuing the stealthy soldier theme. There’s always time for a sweet gum rubber sole, especially set against a two-toned black and beige midsole. Naturally, a colab of this calibre is finished with premium trimmings like custom-branded insoles, aglets, and a massive ‘Urban Islander’ spell-out tongue loop.
Joining the pack is a breezy-toed 900 sandal complete with BOA closures and Ground Contact foam soles, plus bits and pieces of matching apparel for the full fit.
