COSTS x ASICS Team Up For GEL-Lyte III 'Cane Vines'
Chinese fashion brand COSTS are teaming up with for a collaborative infused with Cantonese aesthetics. The retro design is inspired by the outdoors and the symbolisation of growth, which it conveys with the use of warm and earthy tones and lines that mimic lychee vines.
The design uses a range of fabrics, including cotton hemp, suede and natural leather to create rich textures and layers that is further pushed with the use of colour. The base layer is an earthy brown, the middle a creamy sand, and the top layer is a light blue. The ASICS stripes have been switched up to create the lines of the lychee vines, which complements the branch-like laces. Very subtle green hits are seen throughout, with the Chinese character for 'extend' embroidered in dark green and the outsole getting a light green finish.
The COSTS x ASICS GEL-Lyte III ‘Cane Vine’ is available now through COSTS and will be available in select regions on August 25 through ASICS. There won’t be releases in Europe or the United States at this stage.
