Quatro Kawaii! The Doraemon x Converse Colab Drops Four for the Fam

Blue and white converse sneakers covered with cartoon cat print

A time-travelling robot-cat without any ears, and – name a better duo. Yes, Japan's best-loved anime character Doraemon has teamed up with some classic Con silhouettes for another colab that's destined to give you a grin as wide as a plate of yummy buns.

In late April, Converse Japan and the Doraemon empire joined forces to release four pairs, which celebrated the insanely popular manga's 55th birthday. (It's important to note that Doraemon himself is not 55 years old. He actually hasn't been born yet, as his official birth year is 2112. In 2012, Hong Kong celebrated Doraemon's birthday – 100 years early. TLDR: Doraemon is from the future, people!)

Unfortunately for international fans of the silly blue kitty, those drops were exclusive to Japan – but it seems the release was a mere taster! Converse have just unveiled four bright new colourways on four different Converse silhouettes, and in sizes for the whole fam – adult (two colourways), pre-school, and infant/toddler.

The first adult's size of the bunch, the , presents a pink, orange and yellow gradient with a printed cross-stitched pattern. Our pal Doraemon is chillin' under the All Star stamp at the right medial heel, and pulling his best chucklehead face against an oversized star on the right lateral heel. The rubber heel stamp depicts Doraemon having some adorable tummy time.

The other adult iteration is the patterned All Star, which uses a fresh white base as the bedrock for an all-over print of Doraemon doing things at which he excels: smelling a flower, eating a fudgy pudgy pie, waving, and more.

For the infants and toddlers in your world, the Chuck Taylor Easyon features a bright blue canvas upper with handy red pull tabs at the heel. A large circle of leather covers the shoes' vamps, each featuring one of Doraemon's most winning expressions.

The pre-schoolers' option is the Play Lite, turned out in a durable molded upper of sunny blue with a white toe cap. On each side panel, Doraemon sports his propellor hat as he flies off into the stars.

The four Doraemon x Converse models are available now via Converse, with prices ranging from $100 (for the Chuck 70) down to $45 (for the Play Lite).
