You'd naturally assume that London Bridge traverses the Thames in the heart of its namesake city. Perhaps you can even picture it in your head, its grand towers standing proudly either of its bascule deck. Ah, but hang on, isn’t that the Tower Bridge? Indeed. Which one is the London Bridge, made oh so famous by the catchy tune that tells of its decay? Never fear, it hasn’t fallen down, the original London Bridge actually lives Arizona.

In 1967, an enterprising chap named Robert P McCulloch purchased the ailing structure from the City of London and shifted it Stateside brick by brick. Reassembled, the hope was that the bridge would put the town on the map. This strange tale of transatlantic Lego has played a key role in the design process of the latest collaboration between and , the ‘Lake Havasu’.

Rather fittingly, the premium suede and nubuck sneaker was crafted in the UK at the brand’s Flimby production facility. A series of aqueous blues sits atop a cushy ENCAP sole unit, highlighting the shoe’s hybrid heritage with a subtle sense of contrast. The laces have been threaded with a custom deubré sporting the Concepts moniker, capping off an effortlessly stylish sneaker and another killer colab.

The Concepts x New Balance 991.5 ‘Lake Havasu’ will be available on the Concepts web store on January 19 at 11am EST.
