Comme des Garçons’ Wild Nike Air Foamposite One Collaboration Releases in November

Following a drawn-out preview, the Comme des Garçons x Nike Air Foamposite One collaboration is finally releasing in November. Foams have flown under the radar in recent years, after reaching Icarus levels with releases like the ‘ Galaxy’ back in 2012, before making a steady decline in popularity ever since. However, as CdG are wont to do, they’ve trawled up a dormant model for their ongoing colabs with Nike.

Technically speaking, this release sits underneath the Comme des Garçons Homme Plus sub-brand of the massive CdG umbrella. This partnership has brought about some of the crazier concepts attempted on classic Nike models, such as the Air Carnivore and Air Mowabb from previous collections. However, the new Air Foamposite One trumps its predecessors in the wild stakes, thanks completely to its rippled concentric pattern across its eponymous Foamposite material upper. While not circular enough to be a trypophobic nightmare, the chunky form factor and monochromatic black and white finish is certainly an engulfing visual void – which is perfectly suited for the borderline avante garde stylish typical of Comme des Garcons Homme Plus.

The Comme des Garcons Homme Plus x Nike Air Foamposite One will release at Dover Street Market and select CdG stores on November 5, before a Japan release at the same stores on November 26. A limited allocation is also likely from Nike.
