You can always count on Rei Kawakubo’s to bring the sneaker heat for Paris Fashion Week. Teased at the tail-end of an action-packed schedule, Comme des Garçons revealed a brand new silhouette, the Sense 96 SP. Introduced as part of CDG’s impressive Spring/Summer 2025 collection, the model appeared in a trio of colorways, including an eye-catching pink and white makeup alongside CDG’s signature monochrome black and white editions. CDG are, of course, no strangers to reviving some of the more underrated sneakers from the Nike vault, and have combined the uppers of the Nike with the souped-up tech of the Sense for this project.

Designed by Sergio Lozano, who was also the brains behind the anatomical the Air Max 96 was memorable for its pointed medials and lateral panels inspired by ocean waves. Traditionally featuring Air sole units in the forefoot and heel, the new ISPA (Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt) Sense engineering ensures a versatile ride built for traction and durability on any surface.

CDG aren’t the only ones to take the Air Max 96 for a spin in recent years. In 2021, skate behemoth also retooled the silhouette, launching a trio of colorways with translucent panels added around the upper.

Look for the Comme des Garçons x Nike Sense 96 SP to land over the coming months. In the meantime, make sure to all the latest from a huge Paris Fashion Week.
