The Nike Field General 82 Returns With a Comme des Garçons Twist

The has been sitting deep in the archives since its 1982 debut as a turf shoe for American football players. Despite a few attempts to bring it back – the in 2012, the modernised in 2014, and a Hyperfuse version that came closest to the OG – the silhouette has never truly resurfaced in its original form. Now, it steps out of the shadows once more, revived through a partnership that puts a modern twist on the forgotten gridiron classic.

As part of the colab, the Nike Field General has been stripped of its gridiron beginnings and reimagined with Comme des Garçons’ touch. Premium textiles appear alongside the silhouette’s waffle sole, now dressed in an all-black build. Across the upper, a warped monochrome logo cuts through the darkness, sealing the project with a signature close.

Following recent efforts including the , , and , the Comme des Garçons x Nike Field General 82 is set to release on September 11 at Dover Street Market and through the DSML E-SHOP. Peep a closer look at the colab in the shots above.
