Comme des Garçons Collaborate on One of the Most Obscure Nikes Ever!
Nike's Night Track is as quintessentially 70s as a sneaker can get. Despite bearing runner-esque good looks, the smooth-soled silhouette was made for a completely different activity: burning up the d-floor at Studio 54. With disco dead and buried, there's been no need for the obscure model to return to shelves — but Comme des Garçons beg to differ.
Coming out of nowhere, the Japanese fashion label have resurrected the Night Track for their latest collaboration. Gone is the signature silver upper; it's been replaced with an all-black colour scheme. Hits of patent leather add pizzazz, as do speckled laces and a sprinkle of glitter through the outsole. CDG branding at the heel serves as an obvious co-sign for anyone who questions why you're wearing disco shoes in 2018.
The Comme des Garçons x Nike Night Track is available now from select stockists, including Japan's Memphis.
