Closer Look: Skepta x Nike Air Max Tailwind 5 ‘Bright Blue’
UK grime artist continues to impress with his collaborative nous, the North London artist this time tapping the classic .
Already Teasing a ‘University Red’ rendition of the Tailwind 5 back in January, Skepta and Nike have now unveiled official imagery of the upcoming ‘Bright Blue’ scheduled to arrive next month.
Inspired by a butterfly’s wing, Skepta’s Tailwind 5 is built around the idea of continual adaptation. Also paying homage to his previous collaborations with Nike and meteoric grime career, the Tailwind features chrome Swooshes (a nod to the SK Shox) and thermographic heel counter – a reference to Skepta’s Ignorance Is Bliss album art.
No stranger to Nike collaborations, Skepta has previously worked on silhouettes like the Nike Shox TL and Air Max 97.
The Skepta x Nike Air Max Tailwind 5 ‘Bright Blue’ is scheduled to land on April 2 in Asia Pacific, Europe, and Greater China. The price tag is locked at $180.
