Closer Look: Salehe Bembury x New Balance Test Run Project 3.0 ‘Finders Keepers’
Salehe Bembury has already thrown his hat in the ring for the wildest collaboration in 2021, the New Balance collaborator and genre-busting designer tapping the Test Run Project 3.0 ‘Finders Keepers’.
Hot off the heels of his seminal New Balance 2002R collaboration last year (the sneaker was one of our favourite releases of 2020), Bembury’s Test Run Project 3.0 is no shrinking violet, the eccentric design filled with various material overlays.,
Up top, the signature zig-zag strap on the Test Run is rendered in grey New Balance branding. The collaborative nature of the design is also referenced from the outset, with Bembury’s name emblazoned in orange on the tongue tag.
Grey suede and white leather meet on the toe, while Tiger King–approved cheetah stripes enliven the silhouette. On the heel, green and blue panelling present an oasis-like colour palette. Finally, on the underside, we have classic yellow Vibram outsoles and foam midsoles rendered in gold.
First teased on Instagram by Bembury in February, the New Balance Test Run Project 3.0 ‘Finders Keepers’ is expected to land in April.
