The 40-plus-year-old Japanese retailer has always been the envy of international stores because of their exclusive access to products that has people the world over travelling to purchase limited quantities of. And the next drop that can so far only be copped from them is this pair of , which adds bespoke features including lining and soles.
While not a collaboration as such, these Treks may as well be, because they’re a subtle flip on a Clarks classic and its unique retrofitted components aren’t often seen on the model. With very much an urban application behind most of their products, BEAMS are well suited to highlight the Vibram Christy wedge sole that replaces the usual crepe slab, ensuring better grip on wet and slippery surfaces. As is the aforementioned GORE-TEX lining, which seems at odds with the sandy suede upper and its big centre seam (the signature design feature of the Trek), but rest assured the waterproof membrane company wouldn’t offer it if it didn’t work.
