The Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GEL-CUMULUS 16 Finds New Shape in Bloom

Florals for sprummer (that’s spring/summer, by the way) aren’t exactly brand new – especially when it comes to and frequent collaborator . This time, the pairing kicks off The Signature Series – a new initiative spotlighting seasonal pinnacle drops through rich storytelling. Leading the way is the GEL-CUMULUS™ 16 SSCB: a refined reissue of the heritage runner, reimagined with Bahnsen’s elevated design language and crafted with her in mind.
Arguably one of ASICS’ quieter divisions, the GEL-CUMULUS series has steadily built a reputation as a reliable choice for a neutral look with consistent cushioning and everyday comfort. Named after cumulus clouds (to echo its soft, responsive ride), the lineage has seen consistent tech upgrades and bold colour refreshes over the years, with the 16 now making its return to the market.
As for this specific release, the overlays come in varied textures, with the cream option incorporating silver details along the sidewalls. Meanwhile, the mainly-black design highlights shiny panels on the upper sections. Both iterations also swap out classic laces for a bungee system, featuring a toggle inspired by the floral motifs found in Bahnsen's creations.
The Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GEL-CUMULUS 16 stays true to the performance ethos of the mid-2010s. Built for comfort and longevity, it features exposed GEL™ cushioning in the both rearfoot and forefoot, responsive FLYTEFOAM™ PROPEL for added bounce and a TRUSSTIC™ support unit for stability. Durable rubber placement across the outsole reinforces its everyday wearability, making it a solid blend of support, comfort and era-specific design.
