Casablanca Serve Up Another New Balance 327 ColabRelease: 20 November 2020
French-Moroccan fashion label Casablanca have added their luxurious touch to another duo of New Balance 327s, following their earlier two-pack effort that helped launch the new sneaker at the beginning of this year. Working with the tagline ‘Sometimes, more is more’, these 327s reprise the heavily perforated leather and contrasting suede upper construction in a similar manner to the debut editions.
Casablanca opt for minimal colour contrast on these two new options. One goes almost completely white-on-white, with the only accents coming via a thin green trim on the lateral N logo, orange and green woven tongue label, and gold aglets. However, there’s still plenty of texture across the upper to keep things interesting.
The other colourway is a bit bolder, but still quite restrained. Its suede overlays are very slightly grey, while the N logo is thick and black, which is matched to the knobbly rubber outsole. Meanwhile, the nylon tongue interestingly is shaded pale pink, and features the same woven label as its counterpart.
A global release is scheduled at select boutiques on November 20. Given the almost instant sell-out of the first NB drop, many retailers will only be offering this colab via raffle sign-up, while others will opt for first come, first serve. Good luck.
